… 2300 persons will be accredited at Levi World Cup
… there will be 23 arriving flights to Kittilä Airport during the World Cup week; Finnair and Blue1 are flying bigger planes and having 6 extra flights as well
… of all 22 500 beds at Levi most are booked for the weekend. Though, there is still room for last minute visitors!
… about 20 000 visitors are expected to the race during the weekend
… race will be shown in 20 countries via Eurosport. Television coverage is estimated to reach 100 million people
… the drivers of the race transportation visit the airport 100 times during the event

Did you know about the race course that…
… the snow situation is better than ever during the Levi World Cup races: there is a minimum of 80 cm snow coverage everywhere on the slope area
… the vertical drop of the course is 180 meters
… icing of the course (injecting) took over 2 500 000 liters of water. The icing of the upper part of the slope and the finish area took 8 hours from 30 men, and the steep part 4,5 hours.
… the training slope is covered with wet snow so that the conditions are similar to the race course
… according to the weather forecast, there shouldn’t be any snowfalls coming during the weekend … the steepest part of the race course has the steepness of 52 %
… the steepness of the course demands the workers to wear ice peaks in their shoes and to walk leaning back, sometimes even backwards
… in addition to the doctors, there are also a 20 persons first aid group on skies
… there are 57-62 gates on the race course, which means 120 poles, and the same amount in reserve
… on the sides of the course there are 2 kilometers of fence and 750 meters of safety paddings
… over 7 kilometers of optical fibre is drawn to the course
… 21 television cameras with their crews guarantee a successful broadcasting of the event
… preparing the television equipment for the race takes 6 days
… host broadcaster will take care of the domestic and international signal
… diverse winter conditions are challenging for the television technique, and therefore demand good preparation and extra equipment
