Maria Riesch strongest in Levi Black

The winner of the women’s slalom Maria Riesch was happy about winning especially because it wasn’t easy.

“It was perfect day even it wasn’t easy. There were huge expectations after my great last season and I was quite nervous because of that. Also my performance wasn’t perfect in the last few weeks so I didn’t feel really self-confident”, the winner said.

She had worked a lot in the summer and hopes that there will be good results during this season.
“Slalom seems to work well but Giant Slalom is still missing even if I have trained a lot. I hope some day I’ll be on the podium in Giant Slalom as well”, she smiled.

Also the second, Lindsey Vonn was extremely satisfied about her race.

“I’m definitely happy about this race. My goal today was trying to get to the top five so this is really good result for me”, said Vonn.

She likes the Levi Black slope and also praised the conditions.
“The snow and course were perfect and the lights were nice also, so it was really fun to race here tonight”, Vonn told.

American has changed her skis this season and she thinks that it was a good decision.
“We did a lot of testing on the summer and I´m really happy about my Head skis now.

Today’s third, Tanja Poutiainen was happy about her success at Levi.

“I feel almost like a winner because this is my first time on the podium at Levi after five years. It was great to be third in front of my own people”, said Tanja Poutiainen after her home race.

She is happy with her slalom at the moment.
“Last few years I have been a little bit stronger in Giant Slalom and now I’m starting my season with podium so everything seems to be fine and I can just go forward”, she said at the beginning of her 12th season.
